Bring back the old Last.fm [18 Jul 2008|03:06am]

tortoises
Last.fm changed its layout with barely any warning. The new one is less functional, slow to load and far less user-friendly. Check it out for yourself.

If you object to the new layout, join the group against it - crossposted everywhere.

Jai just sent around a new street team email and accounced they are going to be doing band management which is rad. But even better than that, i'm over the moon that their first band is THE SCARE. I love this band. In the email it also said they were playing the Come Together Festival at Luna Park? Does anyone know what that is?

Seattle USA update from Joel (Kisschasy):

Hey guys, how are we all today. I'm currently sitting here in beautiful Seattle, washington watching jai play pin-ball machines at the amazing robert lang studios, where we are currently mixing our debut album "united paper people" And i have to tell you we are all really excited about how it's coming along. We're probably about half way through and it is way beyond our expectations. We also played our first international show last night, in downtown seattle. And it was alot of fun, the crowd, allthough quite "intimate", were rad. They were really loud, and all just seemed really excited by live music. They made us feel really welcome. Anyhoo, back to the album, we're hoping to get it out for you guys by August and if you all behave you might even get to hear a track or two before the release. And expect another tour before it's out too, where we may play you a couple of newies. thats if i remember how to play them. Being 2005, we thought it was time to get ourselves a myspace account. We want as many friends as possible, so you should all go to www.myspace.com/kisschasy and add us. You can leave us messages, and write us mail, and we'll give it a crack to reply to everyone! We're heading down to L.A. next week to play some more shows, which we are all really excited about. I saw los angeles from the plane, and it looked huuuuuuuuuuuuuuggee, for most of us this is the first time out of the country, so it's super exciting whatever we do. Anyways, you guys all take care, we'll be home soon, and we can't wait to get back on the road to see all your pretty faces again. Haha, All the Best

Joel

And a message from Jai:

On another note we have signed another US band called The Matches. They're a 4 piece punk/pop/rock from Oakland, California on Epitaph in the US. They are "rumoured" to be touring out here in June and their record 'E Von Dahl Killed The Locals' is in stores April 25th. Listen to some mp3's here.

Boy Meets Ground, Kisschasy, The Scare [20 Mar 2005|06:12pm]

xsunpoisonedx
Hey guys. Everyone should keep posting in this community!! Here's my story of Mona Vale hotel on Saturday night, with Kisschasy!

I got there a little late so I only saw the end of Boy Meets Ground's set, but they were quite good I thought. It was a while after when The Scare set up and started playing. At this venue everyone tends to stand a few metres away from the "stage" area where the band play, but the singer gestured to us to come and stand right in front of them and create the crowd that way, which I thought was good, it's nice to be standing close to the action.

My friend and I got right down the front which was excellent. I'd never heard The Scare before, but damn they were awesome. (Does anyone know if they have a CD?) They went crazy, the singer was getting in the crowd and screaming in people's faces.. the guitarist broke strings and the strap came off his guitar in one song, so he was on the floor for half of it. The keyboard player was rocking so hard he knocked over his keyboards and his setup collapsed... he had to keep it up with his knee and then quickly fix it up. It was so much fun to watch, they are a great band.. if anyone has the chance to see The Scare, definately go.

After that, Kisschasy came on and started their set with "Anger Is The Brand New Thing", which was awesome. During their set they also played some new songs from their next album and they were sounding really good, it's going to be a rad album... i'm definately going to pick it up when it comes out (July?). They had a fun set, the singer was basically making fun of himself and The Scare (jokes about tight jeans anyone?) and saying he thought it was cool they were playing in a sports bar while there was a football game on tv. I can't remember what song they finished with, but halfway through the singer from The Scare ran up and grabbed the guitarists microphone and sang along with them, it was good fun. They played at Bondi last night which was the end of the tour before going to America. Everyone look foreward to the new album!

I got a few photo's of the show, so once I get them all done and scanned up i'll post them here for everyone...they should be good pics.

10/2/05 - STREET TEAM: TRUE STORIES
So at the Perth Big Day Out we had 2 of our Street Teamers take over the grounds and spread the word. Anyway, the 2 girls documented it on their live journal with photos and everything. It is a pretty funny read and shows how much hard work our street team puts in. We love them! Check it out here.

IT'S MEEEEEEEE! *blush*

This community needs a makeover! Who wants to sex up the layout and make a community icon?

Also, it saddens me that this community is pretty much dead. BPR is kicking more and more ass in 2005 with new artists and stuff, so we need this community to be as active as ever! Post show reviews, photos; hell, it doesn't even have to do with BPR as long as it's related to all the music we know and love. Let's keep this community going!
